I recently listened to a radio interview with Yemi Alade, and in response to one of the questions she was asked, she said “negative people nor be my friend”. That answer got me smiling because I loved the vibe I got from her. She went on to talk about how she stands for positivity and how she loves to move forward seeing that negative people can actually drag her backwards, hence her decision to avoid negative people.
Can you remember that one person that will never see or say anything good about you? Or that person that can kill any positive vibe you may have with their words or actions? How did that make you feel? Well, it is possible that you may know someone like this. In as much as you may not be able to control the actions/behaviour/character of these kind of people, you can actually control how you relate with or react to such people.
I can remember how draining (emotionally and physically) it can be to deal with negative minded people. So I decided to avoid such people so I can stay happy and stay sane. I cannot come and be allowing someone else to be stressing me with their wahala…(lol). If I can do it, then you can too. Cut off, avoid, run, flee from the negative minded ones. But if you are the one that is negative minded, ermmmmm…what advice can I give you now? Flee from yourself? (Lol). Just kidding! Please try and change so that the world can be a better place to live in and so that people will not flee from you. You can read books that can help you change your mindset. (Thank me later).
Let me borrow Yemi Alade’s words…if you be negative person, you no go be my friend o…because I love my happiness, my peace, and my sanity. I am sure you love yours too, so do the needful.
