What made you start the business and how did you start?
The journey started in 2013 during the six months ASUU strike. I had the flair for fashion and since I had all the time then, I enrolled in a fashion school to learn about fashion designing. I was just three months into the training when the strike was called off. So I went back to school, and I continued the training during breaks. It was on and off till I completed the training.
What are the problems/challenges you have faced in your business?
I would say the number one challenge is customers and their pricing. Some people want something good but they are not ready to pay. Another challenge is funding to execute some projects.
How did you solve these problems?
Sometimes, it takes a whole lot of negotiations to agree at a price. Some negotiations take up to 3 days! For other situations, we simply stick to our price and convince the customers by explaining all that is involved. No need to negotiate for a long time. This is because we are sure of the quality of service to be delivered, and we do not want situations whereby pricing will make us compromise that. So we simply stick to our price.
For funding, God has been faithful. We manage to execute projects even though it may not be at the time we want it done, but we still execute them regardless.
What are your hobbies?
Hmmm…that is a bit tough for me surprisingly. But I love designing a lot. I think I will stick to just that…I also love sight seeing, but I don’t get to do that much.
